01 — Find

See what’s on the shelf

Check nearby sightings — or snap any bottle and it's named on the spot, then read its community reviews.

02 — Prove

Confirm it’s still there

You or another hunter walks up to the shelf and re-confirms. That’s the proof.

03 — Track

Get pinged when it’s near

Add a bottle to your hunt. When a proved sighting turns up near you, your phone lights up.

Find it, snap it, find another one.

No typing — snap the label and the sighting goes out to hunters near you.

How it works

Real bottles, on real shelves, proved by real hunters.

Step 01

Spot it

Out in the wild, you spot a bottle — even if it’s new to you. Snap it and Proof Hunter identifies it.

Step 02

Drop the sighting

Proof Hunter ties your photo to the store and the bottle. It posts to nearby hunters as a fresh sighting.

Step 03

Prove & track

Hunters nearby confirm it’s still there. Add what you want to your hunt and get pinged when a proved one is close.

Why Proof Hunter

When one hunter finds it, everyone knows.

Shelves change minute by minute. Proof Hunter is powered by hunters on the ground — and what they just saw. It's for hunters, not flippers — for finding bottles to enjoy, not to resell.

Proved by hunters

Every sighting carries a timestamp and a hunter.

Finds are dated and attributable. A bottle is “proved” when a hunter on the ground confirms it’s still there — eyes on the shelf, on the record.

Decide for yourself

The facts, not a verdict.

Community ratings and pricing — typical price plus what was on the shelf. We don’t rate a bottle as a deal or a dud. You hunt; you call it.

Never hunt alone

You’re never the only one looking.

Other hunters drop sightings, confirm yours, and chase the same bottles. The score is sweeter when somebody else just missed it.

Nearby, on your watch

Be the first to know it’s nearby.

Add a bottle to your hunt — we tune the alert range to the stores around you, up to 10 miles. When a proved sighting turns up nearby, your phone lights up.

A sighting

Just the facts, on the shelf, right now.

A Proof Hunter sighting is short on opinion and long on receipts: the bottle, the store, the observed price, and how recently a hunter confirmed it. You decide what it’s worth to you.

Questions

What hunters ask first.

Is Proof Hunter just for bourbon?

No. Proof Hunter is for any spirit on any shelf — bourbon, rye, scotch, tequila, mezcal, rum, anything you’d hunt for. Bourbon’s the loudest hunt right now, so it’s where we start.

Does Proof Hunter tell me if a bottle is a good deal?

No. We surface the facts: community ratings and pricing — typical price plus what a hunter saw on the shelf. We don’t render a verdict on whether a price is fair. That call is yours.

How is this different from an inventory feed?

Inventory feeds are point-in-time database snapshots. A bottle can be in stock at 9am and gone by 9:15. A Proof Hunter sighting is a hunter standing in front of the shelf with their phone — and the “Proved” state means another hunter just reconfirmed it.

Will you list private contact info or store inventory?

No. We don’t scrape store inventory systems. Sightings come from hunters who photograph what they personally see, and store info is limited to public business listings.
